Leadership Theory Matrix Discussion Assignment (Essay Sample) Content: NameInstitutionInstructorTitle LEADERSHIP THEORY MATRIX As a leader, I typically consider myself as someone who is diverse in the approaches that I employ in the day to day management of the organization. My guiding principles to the kinds of leadership strategies are the facts that different people require varied dimensions of motivation and leadership. Following this reason, there must be a multifaceted way of addressing the issues that pertain to leadership. (Altschuler, 2009). My two central leadership approaches are the skills approach and the style methods. Under these two strategies, there I can use my skills that I obtained through experience in the workplace. Secondly, I can use the style approach to keep on track, the goals based on the behaviors and relationships between the members of the staff and me and other juniors. On the other hand, there are ways that people have some other views about my leadership approaches and styles. Some of the people often t hink that I am a leader whose skills are by the intrinsic factors that incline my leadership approach towards my traits. In this method, they feel that the leadership skills that I possess are due to the personality that is in me. It this is kind of a real observation due the fact that all leadership skills must be related to the character traits of a person in one way or the other, (Pillai, 2000). From the two perspectives, there are slight differences in the way I view my leadership styles from the way people perceive me from their sides. It is typically easy for people to see some personalities in a person rather than himself realizing the traits that he has. It explains the reason why from their perspective, they feel that I am one person who uses characters approach of leadership. (Pillai, 2000).
